Jonathan Johnson Chair of the NAACP Tacoma Branch believes “the real magic will be transferring the potential energy into sustained, long-term — not just behavioral change — but culture shift.” “It will take the entire Tacoma community and every one of the planned 10 years to begin this important cultural shift,”.
Ruby N Lewis will be teaching a Microaggression class at Clark College. Microaggressions can be defined as “the everyday verbal, nonverbal, and environmental slights, snubs, or insults, whether intentional or unintentional, which communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative messages to target persons based solely upon their marginalized group membership.
Dr. Sandra A. Fowler-Hill believes “it's a great career in higher education I have learned to be a leader and a better person from the students, faculty and staff at each of these colleges”. Dr. Hill is the new Interim President of Clark College and Rashida Willard, Clark College’s office of The Diversity and Equity Center, which hosts regular conversations, film screenings, workshops, student luncheon, and events that celebrates diversity and social equity.
Molly MacGregor Teaches at Evergreen High Schoolin Evergreen School District (Clark) works with BSU students & AAUS! will update us on future events.
Rachel Jarnagin is a Teacher at FVHS and teaches the African American History class and is and adviser for the BSU students. Will update us on future events.
